Formulation Philosophy
Most traditional serums, moisturisers and cleansers list water as their first ingredient, with water-based formulas often containing around 70–90% water. Why? Because water is an effective, cost-efficient solvent and carrier for skincare ingredients.
We formulate differently.
Instead of building our formulas around added water, we use Aloe Vera and hydrating humectants like Glycerin as the foundation, alongside concentrated skin-supporting actives.
Why? Because water in a skincare formula isn't a moisturising active.
Its primary role in a formula is to dissolve and carry ingredients. More water doesn't automatically mean more hydrated skin.
For lasting hydration, your skin needs ingredients that help attract, bind and retain water while supporting the skin barrier and reducing moisture loss. That's where ingredients like Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, Aloe Vera and Squalane come in.

Why do I need to double cleanse?
Your first cleanse removes makeup, SPF, excess oil + daily build-up, while your second cleanse cleanses the skin underneath. It gives you a more thorough cleanse without needing to scrub or use harsh, stripping cleansers.
Can the wrong cleanser cause breakouts?
Cleansing can play a big role in breakout-prone skin. Not properly removing makeup, SPF + excess oil can leave residue behind, while harsh or over-cleansing can disrupt the skin barrier and leave skin dry, irritated + sensitized. The goal is properly clean skin, not squeaky-clean skin.
Will double cleansing strip or dry out my skin?
Not with the right formulas. The Fresh Face Trio was designed to cleanse thoroughly while supporting hydration + your skin barrier. Our Milky Gel Cleanser contains 5% Panthenol, Glycerin + Aloe Vera, while the Oil Cleansing Cloths use nourishing cleansing lipids rather than harsh surfactants.
Do I need to double cleanse if I don't wear makeup?
Not always. We particularly recommend double cleansing at night if you wear makeup, SPF or have significant daily build-up. On lighter days, you can simply use the Milky Gel Cleanser followed by your moisturizer.
Can I use this if I have active breakouts or irritated skin?
